8. Bhramari
  • Bhramari pranayama, also known as yogic breathing, is the act of generating a faint humming sound when performing pranayama.
  • A Sanskrit phrase called bhramari is derived from the word bhramar, which means “humming black bee”.

Steps

  • Sit on a comfortable position with erect backbone
  • Close your eyes and breathe deeply.
  • Now close your ears lids or flaps with your thumbs.
  • Place your index finger just above your eyebrows and the rest of your fingers over your eyes.
  • Applying very gentle pressure to the sides of your nose.
  • Now concentrate your mind on the area between your eyebrows.
  • Keep your mouth closed; breath out slowly through your nose making a humming sound of Om.
  • Repeat this process 5 times. The important thing is that while doing this Pranayama, assume that you are being connected to all the positive energies of the universe.
