Hypoglycemia (Low Glucose Levels)
It is a condition where the blood sugar (glucose) level falls below the normal range (< 70 mg/dL).It can affect both physical and mental functioning.
Consequences (if not treated immediately)
- Brain damage (since the brain depends on glucose)
- Loss of consciousness
- Seizures
- Accidents or falls
- Death, in extreme untreated cases
Causes of Hypoglycemia
- Skipping meals or not eating enough
- Overdose of insulin or diabetes medications
- Excessive alcohol consumption
- Prolonged physical activity without proper food intake
- Other medical conditions
